Workshops and Meetings

Our Proven Delivery Model

Starfish Taylor helps your organization solve complex problems by tapping the knowledge and experience of your team. How? Through highly-creative, event-based workshops built around our Nutcracker 50 | 50 | 30™ delivery model. 50% of our effort comes during the Design Phase, 50% during the Event Phase, and the remaining 30% when we deliver your results – providing forward Momentum towards solving your organization’s toughest problems.

Design Phase

We start by working closely with your organization’s core team members to outline the goals, themes, and objectives of your workshop or event. From there, our experienced facilitators design and develop a customized, detailed agenda that’s guaranteed to be unique, fun, creative, and engaging – this will be unlike other workshop your organization has done before!

Event Phase

Now comes the fun part! Starfish Taylor uses a 360° facilitation style to help your team make real connections and break down barriers. This means we manage every aspect of your workshop or event. We track and record every output from every session. We prepare and distribute all assignments and agendas. Nothing is lost. Nothing is forgotten. You don’t have to worry about taking notes or remembering information from the previous sessions. This enables you and your team to focus 100% on achieving meaningful results together.

Momentum Phase

Momentum is only valuable if it’s used to propel your organization forward. At the conclusion of your event, we deliver a comprehensive summary highlighting key decisions and action plans. Starfish Taylor stays with you for post-event meetings to help capitalize on momentum and keep things moving forward for your organization.

The Journey

What to expect as a Customer

Our projects follow the Nutcracker 50 | 50 | 30™ delivery model, that is our proven path to your successful event.

Quantify

We work with you to qualify your problem and challenge to determine if a topic is ready for a meeting or workshop. Once confirmed, we proceed to understand the context and event objectives, with a sharp focus on clarity and manageability.

Design

We guide you through the process of identifying event objectives, participants, and required inputs, while ensuring you are targeting what is actually solvable during the event. After each design meeting, we send a recap to keep everyone up-to-date and on the same page. We know what works and why. We use a vast array of exercises and modules to focus on the event objectives, while remaining aware of the best focus levers: individual exercises, team break-outs, or group discussions. This targeted, co-designed agenda sets your team up for success and ensures an interactive and collaborative event, one that is fun and creative and leads to group buy-in as a key result.

Facilitate

Starfish Taylor facilitates the event in a 360° manner, from front-of-room facilitation to content management. We ensure a clear workflow to focus all participants on the task at hand and keep work efficient and fast. Our experience means we can re-design any event to quickly take advantage of any key themes and ideas that arise.

Delivery

Once the event is finished, we stay with you for a series of sponsor meetings to review and interpret the results. We deliver all inputs and outputs electronically, and if requested, will deliver an executive summary to recap key decisions and action plans.

The Event Phase

During the Event Phase we typically cycle through 3 different stages: Share, Test, and Align & Roadmap. We refer to this as our STAR Event cycle. With frequent iterations and accelerated working sessions, the 3 stages enable participants to understand exactly what they are trying to solve, share and explore their points of view, test and play with potential solutions, and finally align on the best ideas and build a roadmap to get there.

Share

The Share stage is commonly the first part of the event. This is where we bring all the participants up to the same level of knowledge and explore options. What do they need to learn and share in order to solve the problem? We discuss our unique perspectives and experiences related to the problem. We take time to ensure everyone shares the same vision of what we are trying to solve and understands the event objectives – this allows us to work a coherent solution.”

Test

During the Test phase, we start to look at the problem as whole. We often use scenarios to draft a solution under different conditions and environments which helps draw out uncommon ideas and golden nuggets that may not be considered in the normal context. We address the problem from various angles, often in a non-linear fashion, and iterate ideas frequently. We gather information, test ideas, and discover creative and unique ways to solve the problem.

Align & Roadmap

During the Align & Roadmap phase we assemble a detailed solution. We expand and develop the best ideas from the earlier stages of the event. This leads to key decision-making and the delivering of a roadmap or action plan set to reach the goals. Creative team management and focus on both areas of interest and expertise allows the group to trust the outputs put forth by their colleagues, leading to buy-in of the decisions. This sets up strong momentum for action post-event.
